Yesterday my parents and I had to run a few errands in City Centre but since we hadn't had a proper day in town for over a year now due to lockdown and everything, we decided to make a whole day of it and looked around a few of the shops while we were there. I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to get some new skates as well, since the secondhand ones I had broke so after we'd done most of the things we needed to do, we headed for Sports Direct in the Bullring Shopping Centre.
As we approached the entrance to the shopping centre, I noticed a shop just outside that I hadn't seen before. I don't know how new it was but it definitely hadn't been there the last time I'd been around that area and I thought it looked interesting so I decided to check it out. It was called Myga and actually consisted of two shops right next to each other; one that sold crystals, oracle cards, and other little New Age bits and pieces, and the main store that sold all sorts of yoga equipment, vegan food, and eco-friendly products. I'm always looking for new ways to become more eco-friendly so I'm glad that such a nice little shop has opened in Birmingham and I'll definitely be checking out more of their items in the future.
I'd actually been in the market for some yoga blocks and a strap for a while (improving flexibility for cheerleading) so I got those, plus a cute little crystal moon hair clip.
After our little detour and a really delicious plant-based burger from Burger King (seriously, Burger King's vegeterian options are the best), we went to Sports Direct and I got my brand new skates!
Today I went to the park again to try them out and I could defintely feel the difference between them and the secondhand ones I had. The wheels were so much smoother whch was great but that also made it slightly scarier and I almost fell over more times than I can count, haha. I do think I made a lot of great progress today though and I'm looking forward to using them again.
Are there any interesting shops in your area that you've stumbled upon by accident? Let me know in the comments!
